Poldark’s ‘Wheal Leisure’

Not to be confused with Poldark Mine in Helston, Wheal Owles is Cornwall’s only complete tin mine and can be recognised as ‘Wheal Leisure’ from the Poldark series. The mine has been closed since 1893, when tragedy struck and 20 miners lost their lives in a flood.
